Fire Resistance and Rating

Two main standards govern fire assessment in building spaces: SI 931, which tests the flammability of building elements, and SI 755, which classifies materials based on their reaction during a fire. These standards evaluate the behavior and properties of materials at high temperatures, the development of temperatures in different parts of a building during a fire, mechanical performance under fire conditions, and the fire resistance of various building components.

Maximum Fire Resistance of Ashbond Blocks

Ashbond gypsum blocks are totally non-flammable and possess the highest fire rating V1.4.4 by a variety of parameters such as toxic emissions, flammability rating, flash point, smoke density level etc. 10.0 cm. thick Ashbond partitions have a fire resistance of 180 min. under SI 931, whereas that of 6.0  thick partitions is 160 min. This fire resistance makes gypsum a preferred construction material for residential, office and industrial buildings. Thanks to their high fire rating, Ashbond gypsum partitions are suitable for all types of structures.
