Water Resistance
Waterproof Block for Wet Areas
In addition to the standard gypsum blocks Ashbond produces 10 cm. thick waterproof gypsum blocks used for constructing interior partitions separating wet areas or a wet from a dry area. In the course of the production process silicon is added to the mixture resulting in a waterproof block for all block thicknesses, in accordance with SI 1504. The natural gypsum from which the blocks are made benefits from a high level of porosity, so that a partition built of Ashbond gypsum blocks by definition “breathes”, i.e. in a humid environment the moisture is absorbed by the wall, to be expelled from it under dry conditions.
Prevention of Humidity and Condensation on Walls
Wet room construction requires high-quality materials to prevent issues that can harm residents’ health and damage property. In bathrooms, toilets, and kitchens, condensation can penetrate plaster, weaken blocks, and eventually lead to tile damage. Moisture buildup also causes damp patches and harmful fungi, which release spores that can trigger severe respiratory problems and damage furniture and clothes. Using Ashbond partitions prevents condensation and its harmful effects, protecting both health and property.
Light Construction with No Need for Sealing
Thanks to its humidity resistance, the Ashbond block offers an ideal solution for building wet areas without the need for sealing, significantly reducing construction time and costs. Tiles can be applied directly to the partition using acrylic adhesive, without special preparation. Made of waterproof blocks and mortar, the partition also contains damage from burst pipes, limiting repairs to a small, easily replaced section.
