Strength and Stability
Ashbond Block Possesses Flexural Yield Strength
Ashbond blocks comply with requirements of Israel Standard SI 1504 for flexural yield strength, possessing particularly high mechanical strength. If struck by a hard object, the partition will not crack or fracture. Even if local denting occurs due to an inadvertent impact (such as being hit by various objects such as chairs, tables etc.), repair is accomplished very easily and speedily by filling and smoothing the damaged area with Ashbond mortar.
Suspension of Light and Heavy Items
Ashbond gypsum partitions can support both light and heavy items without the need for special anchors, including sinks, kitchen cabinets, and shelves. Tested under SI 1503, 10 cm-thick partitions achieved the highest service levels under both borderline and destructive conditions.
Means of Attachment and Anchoring
Light and heavy items may be suspended from Ashbond walls using various attachment and anchoring means, including - galvanised nails for pictures and other lightweight elements, plastic dowels for shelves, turbo dowels for particularly heavy shelves and/or kitchen cabinets, and Ashbond bolts for sinks, suspended toilet bowls and the like. Jumbo anchors would not be suitable in this case.
Ashbond Bolt for Suspending Heavy Items
The Ashbond bolt is designed for suspending heavy elements such as sinks, toilet bowls, and water boilers. It consists of a 12 mm threaded rod and two threaded plastic cones that fasten on either side of the block. After drilling, screwing the bolt applies pressure to both sides. The suspended element is placed on the protruding rod and secured with a nut and washer. Sinks and suspended toilets must be installed only on 10 cm-thick block walls.
