Gypsum blocks for partitions in a unique residential project in the heart of Jerusalem

In the “Etz Chaim” complex, adjacent to the Mahane Yehuda Market, two 29-storey residential towers are being built, each rising to a height of approximately 120 meters and comprising a total of 308 housing units. Beneath the towers, a seven-level underground car park with 265 parking spaces has been excavated. In addition, complex preservation works were carried out on two historic buildings located next to the towers – the Etz Chaim Yeshiva building and an old kindergarten.

As part of the construction works in the complex, carried out by Ashtrom Construction through its subsidiary Ashtrom Jerusalem, Ashbond supplied 30,453 sqm of 10 mm gypsum blocks for partitions. Ashbond’s unique block enabled convenient and efficient construction and helped reduce execution time and costs, as it is based on dry construction with no need for beams or for a plaster or waterproofing layer before painting or tile installation. The result was monolithic gypsum partitions that combine the structural strength of conventional masonry with the smooth, uniform appearance of gypsum.
